PanoTools NG: Re: How to stitch video and measure fps in a 360 video panorama? Jim Watters jwatters@... 2015-Jan-26 02:21:06
Enrique,

I have VideoStitch now so I have not tried the PTGui10 with graphic card
stitching at creating videos with batch. I got some very good results switching
from PTGui version 9 to VideoStitch.

PTGui 9 batch 1 frame every 4 seconds
VideoStitch using old graphics card 3 frames per second.
VideoStitch after upgrading graphics card 15 frames per second.

Speed is not the only thing to consider for a dedicated video stitching
software. With VideoStitch you also get:
  - Synchronizes the videos to ensure they all line up. This gets harder to do
by eye when lots of cameras are involved.
  - Corrects for color and exposure though out the video smoothing changes.
  - Stabilize the video removing camera shake.
  - Ability to write to a video file directly.
- View a preview video interactively
- Seams that do not move around from one frame to the next. They hide better
this way.

If by fps you want to know the source fps then the properties or EXIF data of
the file should include this.

MPRemap is a panotools utility to remap a video file from one format to another.
With a promise of being updated soon to include stabilization.
