I agree. I didn't participate in the poll because my preferred
response was not included: "Any or all of the above". It has been
very valuable for me to have this yahoo group available - a big thanks
to John for running it and to all contributors for making it so useful!
I also agree that the community has probably outgrown yahoo's service
- there are too many limits on what yahoo lets you do (searching the
message archives, especially), so it's probably best to move on to a
dedicated site/server/forum/whatever. The details don't bother me too
much as long as the community remains intact!
That's my $.02 (probably overpriced, except that the dollar has
declined a lot recently and, sadly, it's taken the penny with it!)
