PanoTools: PanoTools List Changes John Spikowski 2006-Jul-10 07:27:34
PanoTools Members,

Since Kevin is no longer mangaging the list, I have taken back the list
ownership (Yahoo Groups registered owner/creator) and will be managing the
list from this point on. (non-moderated) The PanoTools list will be in
temporary moderation mode to prevent further disruptions while the list
returns to it's roots. This will be lifted as soon as ALL disruptive posts
end.

I've have made some changes to how the lists are going to work to better
aggregate the flow of information. The PanoTools group is a open source
project based on Helmut's Panorama Tools project that we inherited. This
project has attracted the higher end photographer which has provided
valuable feedback to the panorama tools projects under the PanoTools group
umbrella. The list has turned into a chat list for photographers and the
focus of the group has shifted from an open source project to a free version
of the IVRPA. To allow both groups to prosper, the Yahoo Groups list will
continue to be photographer centric and the PTML list to be used by the open
source projects and members that wish to contribute to these project.

The www.panotools.info site is the official PanoTools group web presence.
It's not a private enterprise but a site that was custom designed for this
groups needs. I think we can better serve the community by pulling together
and lending your talents to helping build the groups resources for others
that follow.

The Yahoo Groups PanoTools list will no longer moderated. I still feel we
have a bright group of people as members of this group that never had a
problem in the past acting as adults and being helpful friendly people. Lets
see if we can return to that reputation. One thing I will not tolerate is
disruptive behavior. If you have a problem with someone on the list, then
contact them directly to work out your differences. Don't bring it back to
the list for us to solve.

If you can't live with these changes then there are other panorama related
lists and forums the may better fit your needs.

I'm looking forward to working with all the photographers, developers and
vendors to make the PanoTools group the best panorama site on the net.

John
