Other than that it should work.
This is how I created the insert:
- Use the script below to determine suitable fov, pan, tilt, rot angles.
- Extract an image equal in size to the insert with these angles
from the panoramic image using Panorama Tools->extract.
- Paste the 'real' high resolution image into this extracted image.
Colors are adjusted to match the background, and Photoshop's
feather tool is used extensively.
The high resolution image was shot a couple of years before
the panorama with almost everything being different (lighting,
weather, sky, vegetation, camera position etc), yet a reasonable
fit is obtained.
The second image is obtimised by using the parameters from the first
image. See both scripts below.
