I have only a litte experience with panotools and ptgui.
I use ptgui on w2000 and i have had the same problem.
The problem you are referring to, is probably causated by some problem
during the optimizer process. If the optimizer distance in control points
menu are nearly 0 (0.0 e-05 and more)
something doesn't work properly.
