In this version it does write tempfiles but only few and small ones.

I guess so.
At this point I really cannot say which part of the solution
contributes that much to the results: I simply tried to
get highest affordable speed, and optimized algorithms, software
and hardware base in one big step.
The next step must be the validation of these results: I need
feedback about the performance of the program, speed and
especially image quality. There are certainly many bugs to be
corrected which did not show up in my limited test base.
Then we can think about transfering some of the results to other
systems. But we have to ask: do we want a stable fast PS3-solution
by, eg. the end of the year, or do we want to know exactly, how any
thinkable combination would perform, but have nothing?
