Subject:Re: using a tilt shift lens with a pano head?

Thread:

Unfortunately the tilt is not compensated, when you tilt you also shift
the lens a bit, it is not like using a LF camera.
When your lens is going off-center each row of pictures it becomes a
nightmare to stitch all the thing together. Not impossible, but a nightmare.
Canon 24 and 45, Nikon 85 micro.... all may be hacked rotating the mount
so tilt and shift occour in the same direction, in order to compensate
or exagerate the thing (fare more useful in practical use) but you risk
to see the lens vignetting.
Canon 24 is not so nice on digital, not too much better on film. Canon
45 is simply fantastic, Nikkor is the only macro one, and is perfect for
portraits.
