Not every email client links threads together well, or even at all
(other than through basic sorting by subject).
Brief quoting is *very* useful for some of us; it helps preserve a
sense of context, something that's very easy to lose when juggling
emails and a dozen other apps all at once.
(In contrast, Yahoo's slew of junk tagged onto the bottom of each
email is seriously UN-useful. Can that be reduced at all by the list
owners?)
I try to trim off as much as possible with each reply so that it is
functional but not fat. I hope I get the balance more or less right.
