Yes, probably a combination of both. The images in the example at
CheathamLane have cube faces which clock in at 500-700KB apiece. The
quality settings (precision, segments) definitely affect performance.
The more maths going on, the greater the performance hit.

Oh no!, did that reappear? Go figure, I can do some neat things, but
arithmetic isn't one of them. :-P
