i just timed myself using ptgui with a set of images that had a pair
with very few details for control points. no template or anything
like that used. just the method i outlined earlier (but forgot to add
that you re-optimize and continue to delete points above 2) with a
handful of manual cp's and 4 vertical cp's it took six minutes.
without the bad pair of images, i imagine it may take 4 minutes in ptgui
i don't think there is much of a reason to do things manually if
automatic works well
