Absolutely: as long as the software licence doesn't prohibit
transferring to another person (very few do), and as long as you
remove any copies from your system, pass along any media, etc, that's
normally fine.
But the question "is it original or a copy and how much" can easily
be taken a rather different way. That's what I wanted to spotlight,
in case it went off any further in that direction.
