PanoTools NG: Aiptek A-HD+ mini fisheye camera mod panovrx 2009-Apr-03 06:02:46
In my quest for a mini fisheye camera for architectural model (and ant) panoramas I ordered this week an Aiptek A-HD+ hybrid camera and it came this morning and I replaced the lens with the fisheye lens from the GoPro Hero Wide -- and it works ok -- much better low light performance and control features than the GoPro -- and its ergonomics for video are much better -- but it is much bigger than the GoPro. About the size of a pack of cigarettes. It is extremely light though. It is being hacked by people wanting to use C-mount lenses on it

The really interesting thing for model photography is to remove the sensor board, which is really small, and tether it with a cable -- but it is mystery apparently where to get the "unobtainium" connector
