Subject: | Aiptek A-HD+ mini fisheye camera mod |
In my quest for a mini fisheye camera for architectural model (and ant) panoramas I ordered this week an Aiptek A-HD+ hybrid camera and it came this morning and I replaced the lens with the fisheye lens from the GoPro Hero Wide -- and it works ok -- much better low light performance and control features than the GoPro -- and its ergonomics for video are much better -- but it is much bigger than the GoPro. About the size of a pack of cigarettes. It is extremely light though. It is being hacked by people wanting to use C-mount lenses on it http://forums.steves-digicams.com/forums/view_topic.php?id=594685&fo... and model aeroplane fans http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=936068 here is a still http://www.mediavr.com/aiptek1.jpg and a video (me riding thru my neighbourhood on my bike) http://www.mediavr.com/aiptek1.mov (17Meg) (720p) The really interesting thing for model photography is to remove the sensor board, which is really small, and tether it with a cable -- but it is mystery apparently where to get the "unobtainium" connector Peter M ------------------------------------ -- <*> Wiki: http://wiki.panotools.org <*> User Guidelines: http://wiki.panotools.org/User_Guidelines <*> Nabble (Web) http://www.nabble.com/PanoToolsNG-f15658.html <*> NG Member Map http://www.panomaps.com/ng <*> Moderators/List Admins: #removed# Yahoo!
