So why doesn't it work in th PTGui list?

I know some that have moved from forum to mailing list, because a forum
is far too laborious to handle.

I insist on my opinion that a mailing list is far more convenient to
read than a forum and miles ahead of a social networking site - simply
because I can choose how to read it! I can choose between a multitude of
mailreaders and I can set them up like I want. I can even read offline,
f.e. while traveling. I have my archive always at hand and much more.
And for those web-addicted there are web interfaces.
