Thanks for the suggestion.

The issue here is that the end result needs to be an orthogonal, or flat
picture, not cylindrical and the total length will be 33 meters!

I can shoot with my Nikon D300-10.5mm fisheye, de-fish the images and stitch
those but distortion of for-background will be horrible this way I'm afraid,
unless I shoot every 10 cm and only use slices.
