"Real estate photography ? build 360? spherical virtual home tours with ease" is one of the application areas they mention. If you look where the Iphone lens is relative to where the axis of rotation it doesnt look NPP to me but it should work sort of I guess. At least it would be totally automatic. It has a tripod socket. They will release a mount for Gopros they say, and a Bluetooth control option.
