PanoTools:
PhotoShop error message
Mark D. Fink 2003-Dec-23 12:39:26
Hi all,
I've been working on a high resolution partial panorama and had to use the
TIFF_m option since PSD_mask crashed when it got to the convert from TIFF to
PSD. I ended up with 32 TIFF files each 22000x6000 pixels. What I was
planning to do was open each one in PhotoShop one at a time and paste them
into a new layer.
When I try to open one in PhotoShop, I get an error message "Could not open
"image.tif" because there is not enough memory (RAM). I have WinXP Pro with
512 MB RAM and two scratch disks set up, the first having 18.8 GB of space,
and the second having 14.3 GB of space. The amount of memory allocated to
PhotoShop is set to 80% (normally 50%). I also reduced the levels of cache
from 4 to 1, but still can't get one of these files to open.
The TIFF file size is stated as 27.5 MB, but I'm guessing each one is
actually closer to 390 MB once opened. Any suggestions on what I need to do?
Thanks,
Mark
