Extracting images from an equirectangular file

I must be missing something fundamental here, but...
I'm looking for a tool that will allow me to extract an image from an
equirectangular file.
Basically, I'm looking to extract something like cube faces with
arbitrary yaw, pitch, and roll.
Surely, such a thing exists, but I'm not seeing it.
