PanoTools: Allocating memory for either PTEditor or PhotoShop plug-in Mark D. Fink 2005-Mar-12 17:16:29
Hi,

I'm trying to edit the nadir of an image that is 12,000 x 6,000 pixels. When
I try to use the plug-in, I get a message "Error allocating 281250 KB of
memory". I have 1 GB of RAM in my machine, but I'm guessing that a large
part of that is being used by PhotoShop to load the image in the first
place. Is there a workaround for this?

Next, I tried using PTEditor to extract the view necessary and edit that.
Even after allocating 512 MB of memory (even tried 768), I get a message
that there isn't enough memory, and PTEditor can't read the image. What are
my options? I guess I could go back to PTGui and load the final panorama and
remap it so that the nadir is in the center, edit that, then remap again in
PTGui to restore the orientation, but that seems to be a lot of work and
interpolating.

Thanks,

Mark
