getting rid of alpha channel with Imagemagick

This is not related to the problem of the double Alpha channel produced
by PTGuiv5.2.
I am trying to use Erik Krause's .bat to mogrify 16 bit images with
alpha channel to 16 bit *without*, because Photomatix seems to have a
problem with the way PTGui places the Alpha channel in the tif.
I have looked through the command line options, but cannot find the
option to delete the alpha channel.
It should be something like: mogrify -channel Alpha [and the something
else] image.tif
Any users of Imagemagick out there who could give me a hint?
