PanoTools: Brocap_D 1.0 Release Candidate 1 Yuval Levy 2006-Feb-26 16:48:53
Hi List!

At http://br.xenaura.com/ you will find a download link to the first release candidate of Brocap_D 1.0

The Documentation is at the beginning of the zipped PHP file that can be downloaded at the above URL. Out of a total length of 360 ;-) lines of code the first 187 are documentation and license. With a little bit of basic PHP notions everybody who has access to a PHP enabled server can now reliably detect 14 plug-ins and a number of other client features. With this information it is possible to optimize the panorama experience for the client, as seen on http://www.voxcasa.com/

FEATURES & BENEFITS

* Brocap_D 1.0 is free for commercial and non-commercial use.

* Brocap_D detects the availability of 14 plug-ins and other relevant information.

* Brocap_D is fast, with over half of the detections completed successfully in less than 3 seconds (the fastest detection was 30 milliseconds).

* Brocap_D is reliable, with an overall reliability rate above 95%.

* Brocap_D is easy to integrate in existing websites.

* Brocap_D has been in use in a production environment for over a months now, working in the background to customize the display of panoramas at some of the largest Canadian real estate sites.

REQUIREMENTS

Brocap_D requires PHP - the JavaScript version tested a few months back on this list has been put on hold for lack of time and interest. The code is commented and translation into other server-side languages or into client-side JavaScript are welcome.

RELEASE CANDIDATE AND ROAD MAP

This code is a release candidate. Feedback is welcome and appreciated. If you need help implementing it on your site, feel free to ask.

have a good week
Yuv
