I'm very thankful for the contributions everyone has made to this list
and the wiki, and the people who have helped make it happen.
The hosting cost is way beyond anything one would expect for something
this size, perhaps only justifiable by unrevealed gradiose plans.
Whatever John has in mind is his business I guess. I'd like to thank
him for his volunteerism, but don't really want to subsidize an
unknown business plan.
Wikipedia. Fabio brought up something that has always puzzled me.
Why not be part of Wikipedia? Keeping Panotools as a separate island
of free wiki information seems peculiar. For what it's worth, I do
regularly donate to Wikipedia, and would be happy to make an extra
payment to them for a decade's worth of hosting the panotools info.
This is sort of a joke because the donations are really not for a
specific area, and the marginal costs for panotools would be minimal
-- they deliver a couple of billion (thousand million) pages for $8000
per month in hosting charges.
Yahoo List. I'm very satisfied with the Yahoo list, and think it
would be a mistake to move.
Steve Dowd's offer to download the entire list is very kind, and I'd
certainly like to get a copy of it for local searching.
