PanoTools: Olympus 8mm fisheye? dtonnes 2006-Jun-02 00:13:37

Does anyone use this lens? http://tinyurl.com/n96lj

How does it compare to Sigma's 8mm in image quality? Or FOV on a given
camera? Olympus claims a 180-degree diagonal FOV on their E-system cameras.

I'm wondering if it could be used to create 3-shot panoramas using a rig
similar to Agnos' MrotatorC: http://tinyurl.com/ndyx9. Either on Olympus'
E-system cameras or via an adaptor on a Canon camera? The lens is designed
for Olympus' 4/3rds system which uses a smaller sensor than Canon - 2x crop
vs. 1.6x crop. Might it produce a bigger image circle on the Canon, similar
to how Nikon's 10.5mm produces a wider circle on FF cameras?

Thanks in advance...

Dave
