PanoTools:
PtGUI - how it finds it's points

I've been meaning to ask this for a while. When manually adding control
points, PTGui finds / matches the opposite point. Most of the times it's
dead on. Other times it's off by up to 100 pixels. Yet other times, it
places the crosshair over a point, but does not place the point.
Is the ease of PTGui automatically matching points and representation of how
well the image will stitch?
