Yes, and i don't think people are prepared to accept this for an "immersive" 
image the same way as they accept/come to expect it with Google Earth etc. - 
You loose the felling of "being there".

Allthough it still have some quirks like sqeezed nadir/zenith  and 
bending/jumpings around the horizon, the thing I like about HDview is the 
fov depending perspective correction - especially that it keep the picture 
rectliniar even with a rather broad view. It would be great if this could be 
implemented in the stadard panoramic viewers, so we don't get the 2/3 left 
and right parts of fullscreen/broad display panoramas stretched out (I still 
have a  4:3 monitor - It must be much worse for you with 16:9 monitors!)
