Subject: | enfuse -- registering bracketed exposures |
Here are 3 shots 2 stops apart (10.5mm on Canon40D) http://www.mediavr.com/stat1l.jpg http://www.mediavr.com/stat1m.jpg http://www.mediavr.com/stat1d.jpg and this is the default (rectilinear) enfuse rendering from PTGui (with the enblend option pointing to enfuse.exe) http://www.mediavr.com/stat1enfuse.jpg The original shots were handheld at 6fps -- so they are pretty well aligned anyway but they still need proper registration. In PTGui the autoalign failed with this set of images but when I produced another set of jpgs from the raw files designed to make them look as much like each other as possible exposure-wise it aligned them ok and then I could replace those with my original set to get the enfuse image. The same practice of course is good for all kinds of exposure bracketed alignment -- ie make custom image versions for PTGui point finders to work on. Enfuse is great too for working with single images ie. from raw make light and dark versions and let enfuse do its thing. It gives good realistic shadow lightening easily.
