Raymond,
I don't think anyone responded to your question. I did have the same problem
you describe until finally figuring it out.
In PT2.1 you have to click through the dialog boxes, deep into the
preferences. Eventually you will find options to show a processed image
cropped and framed, save to a holding folder, and open the saved image from
the holding folder as a new image. These are not mutually exclusive choices.
However, the option to show a processed image in its original window often
returns undesiriable results.
I had to create the holding folder directly from the C: root directory, as
my usual file paths have spaces in the folder names and PT2.1 doesn't like
gap toothed names at all.
PhotoImpact 5 has problems with this routine, but Photoshop 4 handles it
easily. After set up, the process is transparent. Suggest you save processed
images under new names wherever you want to keep them. Otherwise they will
get stepped on in the holding folder. And during a long trial and error
session the images in the holding folder will accumulate, so you probably
will want to empty the folder from time to time.
Anyway, that's the way I solved the problem you experienced. I'm not even a
panographer. Rather, I use Panorama Tools to create spherical projection
maps for 3D model textures. So I mostly lurk the digest and click through to
the panos from time to time to admire the talent of folks on this list.
Hope this helps.
