PanoTools: Effect of Control Points Where Sidelap is >50% Jim Sutherland 2005-Sep-19 06:41:42
Greetings all:

Does anyone have any experience regarding the effect of using control points where the sidelap is greater than 50%. In this case (if there are say 6 images covering the full 360 HFOV) you can select control points in image 1 & 3, 2 & 4, et as well as control points in the normal adjacent sidelap. I took the images with greater than 50% to help control the image in hopes of modeling the horizon much more accurately than is normally required. This may help determine a more reliable FOV for the lens as well. I would appreciate any comments/experience members may have in this case.

Thank you,
Jim Sutherland
