PanoTools: Possible alternate use for Enblend Mark D. Fink 2004-Dec-03 16:28:28
Hi all,

I had a thought in the middle of the night :o) What if Enblend were modified
to blend between two different exposures where the focus point varies? For
instance, shot 1 is focused to hyperfocal, (perhaps covering 10' to
infinity), while shot 2 would be focused to cover from maybe 2' to 12'.
Would it be possible to have Enblend look for areas of sharp focus, (using
something similar to the way cameras autofocus), identify those, and give
them preference over the out-of-focus areas from the other shot? This would
give us the ability to extend depth of field via multiple exposures on
longer focal length lenses.

That's my wish list for Christmas!

Thanks,

Mark
