The rate you have been quoted sounds standard to me. You could find a
company that bills by the month. Join up and then unjoin up. Most
Government authorities in Australia will want to sight a "Certificate
of Currency" for public liability nowadays for photographers on their
premises (and you will have to be "inducted" as well sometimes)
