Help installing PanoTools

Hello all,
I'm quite new to immersive imaging. I'm trying to install PanoTools on
an Intel Linux box running RedHat 7.0. I'm using the Java JDK 1.3. I
have copied the file libpano12.so to /usr/lib. When I try to run
PTPicker, I get the following error message:
Could not load library pano12
Any thoughts on why this library will not load? Also, if there is a FAQ
to this mailing list and someone could steer me to it, perhaps I won't
be burdening the list with so many "newbie" questions. :)
