proj-imim: PTOptimizer (again) and some general questions Alex K Billington 2000-Jul-13 11:13:03
Just a few questions:

1. Will using the PC version of PTOptimizer iteratively theoretically create the same effect as using it just the once? By this I mean, for example, with 16 images, optimizing 4 images at a time, creating a standard rectilinear BMP output for each, and then feeding the four optimized scripts produced back into the optimizer along with the four 4x4 images to stitch together the whole panorama. Sorry that sounds a bit complicated - I hope you know what I mean ;)

2. Minor problem with PTViewer using Windows NT: you get an access violation error when you try to minimise the window - not something you're likely to do anyway, but I thought I'd mention it...

3. Is there any way of compensating for the fact that the focal point of the camera is not very close to the axis of rotation? I thought it might be possible to alter each image to make it look as though it was taken (e.g. 100 mm) further back than it actually was - would this just require a change of perspective or is it impossible?

4. A more generic question about digital cameras: could anyone tell me if a change in the focus of a camera also change the HFOV for that picture?

Thanks again,
