TomF,
This sounds like just what I'm looking for. However, this must be a very new
monitor because a Google search of "Sharp LL-2020-H" turns up only one hit,
something about how to build a Mac workstation using the new "Sharp
LL-2020-H" monitor.

Where did you purchase this monitor? How much was it?

Peter

Peter,

Solved a similar problem, but a pricey solution. The 20' Sharp LL-2020-H.
Native res is 1600x1200; off-axis viewing is very useful to 60 degrees.
Color is as good or better than anything I've worked with, CRT or LCD.

This all works out because the imbedded graphics controller in my Toshiba is
an NVIDIA GeForce FX go5200 which supports native (Toshiba) and attached
2020 screen formats in a consistent way. Good luck.
