PanoTools NG: Compiling Gimp plugin for windows flyingscool 2008-Jan-14 21:28:51
Hi,

Sorry for the long message. My main question is - is there a
codepath for the GIMP plugin that I can compile for windows?

I'm very much a newbie at compiling code and C programming. I'm
using Windows XP Pro, and I have VStudio 2003 installed and a working
version of what I believe to be the latest stable versions of MSys
and MinGW. I've had the most luck with MinGW over VS

My head is kind of spinning with all the stuff out there.

I found a version of pano12.dll source for version 12.8.6. I was
able to compile that using MSYS and MinGW. To get it to compile, I
figured out that I needed to download the jpg etc libraries and how
to install them to get the compile to work. Everything else was
straightforward.

I also have an older (original?) version of pano12.dll, but I could
not get that to compile (lots of errors).

What I really want to do is compile the GIMP plugin. Eventually I
want to make some of my own application specific changes to the
panotools remap function and use it through GIMP. I've gotten the
changes to compile for the dll.

I do have a working version of the GIMP plugin that I downloaded and
installed.

I downloaded the branches/pano12 source from the SVN, but when I go
into the gimp-plugin directory and try to run the makefile there, I
get a billion GTK errors.

I notice that both the pano12 and pano13 GIMP plugin sources are
based on the old version of panotools. Is that an issue?

Any advice I could get on compiling the GIMP plugins would be
appreciated. I'd be happy to do what I can to update the GIMP Plugin
code to the 12.8.6 version of panotools.

Tom
