Thank you for the background and the history lesson. :c)

Ironically, Prof. Dersch just a few weeks ago changed to the LGPL v3.0
for his Panorama Tools library.  Also interesting (to me) is that on
his website there appears to be both a newer version then I have, and
an HDR version.  I admit I haven't been to his website in years
because I had reason to believe he had given up (abandoned) his PT
library to pursue other interests, and according to the links you sent
I was at least correct in believing his 'abandonment'.  Obviously at
some point he resumed taking an active part in the libraries,
especially given the fresh change in license as well as the HDR
viewers.

By the way, I also found out about an innovative and creative use
which inserts a pano in a PDF.  That may prove rather interesting for
me.  As will the ability to use the 3.2 version on CDs.  ;c)
