I also think the price is a bargain. Just the time it would take to test my
lenses and enter the data pays for it with his data base. I guess some
people work for free so they can complain.

IIRIC the panotools library is released under the LGPL, which is 
different from the GPL.

Anyway I think that PTLens does not use panotools anymore. Distortion 
correction is a small subset of what panotools can do, and for a 
programmer with the right skills writing the needed code is not a very 
complex task.

Thomas has worked a lot at PTLens so he has probably found the time to 
remove the panotools dependency.
