PanoTools: PanoTools.info Login & Passwords John Spikowski 2005-Apr-03 22:02:15
I have received a few messages from the members about login & passwords for
the services provided by PanoTools.info. If you didn't create a
login/password (user) for the wiki before I changed the option for it to be
required, then you need to create a user account for yourself before editing
and creating pages. You can check if your a user by visiting the following
wiki page.

It seems that some of the members refuse to use or respond to member posts
on the forum. I will try to explain the idea behind the forum, wiki and how
it relates to the mailing list.

Last month the Yahoo Group list generated over 1000 messages. I didn't even
get that many spam e-mails this month. How many members read all the
messages generated last month? How many were support or announcement related
of the total messages generated?

Before posting a message to the list, ask yourself where would be the best
place to ask my question.

1. Do a search on the wiki and see if your question has already been
answered.

2. Check the forum topic group your question relates to and see if there is
an answer there.

3. Decide if your question needs a one message response or if this is a
topic you want to discuss with the members in detail.

I think we are loosing members due to the volume of message that hit the
list. If the membership is to grow, we have to be smarter in the way we
communicate with each other. I hope the new website will help balance the
content flow and make it easier for members to navigate PanoTools. Let all
try a little harder to make the facilities we do have work better for the
group.

Thanks !

John
