That’s what the IS does. If you are shooting freehand, minor shift values
are the least of your problems. Think about the wobbles of your freehand
shot to shot, compared to IS trying to get a sharp image in 1/15 of a
second.

If you are not shooting freehand, then you have different versions of IS to
think about… ones that understand when they are mounted and not..

And again, if you did have your lens on a tripod with IS and it did shift a
lot.. There’s no way to optimize that in a manner that’s accurate for the
actual shift values. Just for best stitch (lowest avg cp error).

I was wondering if any of you with IS in your bodies/lenses if it causes any
problems 
when stitching? 
Theoretically it could cause each shot to have slightly differing Shift
values - at least 
when shooting freehand or pole/monopod/Philopod?
