the latest hugin Windows builds (since about one year) no longer use
the DLL, they are statically linked which means they come in a larger
file to avoid DLL-hell. Moreover they are often faster.

if you are on FreeBSD, you might want to use the official port:

cd /usr/ports/graphics/libpano13
make install
