Thanks. Sure, link away! (what forum is that?)

Well, the CONCEPT isn't new. The first time I saw something like this was in
a program called Reality Studio by LivePicture (prior to that called
"RealSpace", after LivePicture it became "MGI" and now "ISeeMedia"). This
package is still marketed (though it could use an update!). More recently
there's the game Myst III: Exile which has REALLY impressive scenes. I
sometimes think of my SPi-V engine as Myst III for the web ;-)

Currently, I do intend to someday create a set of accessible authoring tools
for SPi-V. But that is really far off. One of the benefits of SPi-V at the
moment is that it's based on Macromedia Director, so it's very extensible
for me (with Director's media support and scripting, I can add 'just about
anything'). There's (unfortunately) a big difference between me being able
to make cool tech-demos and a polished authoring environment. SPi-V is
capable of far more than the 'simple' chitchat demo, I'll post more samples
'soon' (when-they're-ready(tm))

That being said the SPi-V engine is available for "licensing" in (web-based
and cd-rom) projects, you'll just have to license me with it ;-).

Funny you mention 'stock'. As I said in my original post, the woman you see
is a sample from a collection of moving people loops:
http://www.marlinstudios.com/products/people/people.htm. Their full set
contains 77 different loops (people).

Lots! ;-) Gotta buy myself a bluescreen studio...

Be aware however that one of the reason my demo 'works' is that the person
is lit in a "believable way", that is the demo would be less compelling if I
had put her on the other side of the room. Though video avatars/objects are
cool, it will be hard to make really 'universally working' video inserts.
