PanoTools: Re: PanoTools Funding Options amlindsey2001 2006-May-25 14:32:27
Assisting John in the funding of his site is a noble cause and he
should be helped.

These are my other thoughts.

1. All of us chose to be a part of this group and John, on his own
time, runs the wiki and others add to it.

2. If one wants to be a part of this group they should help those who
give of their time, talents and resources. Give some money, it won't
kill anyone to help a bit and we aren't talking about a fortune here.

3. Those who question every cent and demand accountability, and so
forth, are simply trying to control something. Considering the money
involved it's much ado about nothing.

4. Over the years that I have been producing panoramics, I have seen
the interest in our hobby/business grow markedly, principally because
of the introduction of digital cameras, fast computers and finally,
the work of the handful of dedicated programmers, starting with Helmut
and now with Joost. What we now have now is GOOD.

5. If one has a problem with how things are being done in the group
work with the doers,
OR, start your own group then it will be exactly what you want,
including any funding you might need.

6. Life is short. Make the best use of your time by creating fine
panoramics that you can leave behind for the people of 2050 and beyond.

7. One of my favorite photos in our city museum shows a portion the
city in 1906. Today none of that view remains. All was torn down and
built anew. I live on the Gulf Coast and was in the path of Katrina.
There are so many spots that I hadn't photographed that are now
"GONE." The homes and businesses only reside in memories. The local
newspaper is doing a before and after book. It's so sad.

8. I enjoy this group but some subjects go ad infinitum and become
tiresome at times. Thanks for the opportunity to vent.
