Well, not quite. F/8 is considerably sharper than f/22. I haven't had
any problems like yours on a similar setup, but you don't say which
version of the Sigma 8mm lens you are using. The f/4 version does
suffer from quite bad vignetting, which might explain things if that's
what you are using. The f/3.5 version, which I now have, is very
considerably better. So much so, that I don't bother to do any
vignetting correction at all in the RAW conversion. I always expose
and process the images identically, bracketing when appropriate.
Blending a set of images with Smartblend does not produce uneven
effects like you describe, so I can only guess that you have the f/4
version. If not, then Erik might well be right in thinking the problem
arises in the HDR processing.
