Jean,
No the panorama dose not have to reside in the same folder as the HTML file
however you need to tell ptviewer that the file is in another folder. Do not
put the image folder higher up the folder tree than the Html file. For ease
of use the image folder should be in the same folder as the HTML file, For
example
 
Root folder
    HTML File
    Image Folder
        Pano Image1.jpg
        Pano image 2.jpg
 
You then need to tell PTviewer that the image is : file=
/imagefolder/panoimage_01.jpg
