I have CS 2 working on several PC's all windows based with no problems
at all. There is a new version of Bridge recently released, 1.3, I
have not read the release notes, but it works just fine.

If you go the the Adobe forum that might well help. I have not read
there of anyone with so many problems that they have asked for their
money back. Installation problem are often linked to system problems
an indeed even the dreaded Spyware. I recently has to re-install
everything on my main system because of a self induced system problem,
my fault not Microsofts. The thought of not being able to use CS2 does
not thrill me, the Shadow/Highlight adjustment tool alone is worth it.
