Did some quick blending test with your images:

using DRI [[13+14]+.15] and then masking in the dark exterior parts manually
afterwards [with loose hand !]

using Erik Krauses "Contrast Blending"
Both with slightly color optimizing.
Could be better if you gave it a little more time and precision.
