Yes John - VERY much .
I suffered also but using RAW and working with TIF and applying
ULTRASHARPEN PRO at the very last action in my workflow increased
quakity really a lot. So I keep the final JPG untouched then.
I processed udedomenicos image with Ultrasharpen Pro and a 0,5 Radius.
That increased sharpness very good without getting overexpressed edges.

You will certainly get a very much improved image if you extract tiff
files from RAW with properly corrected chromatic aberration, and apply
some intelligent sharpening after stitching.
