According to my own tests, the maxarray trick solves the problem. This is what I get: A small panorama with 720000 pixels, no maxarray setting. <http://www.fh-furtwangen.de/~dersch/Monp_ptvj.html> Netscape 4.04/Win98 37.2s IE 4/Win98 35.2s A large panorama with 3600000 pixels, maxarray set to 10000000 for non-Netscape browsers <http://www.fh-furtwangen.de/~dersch/Marburg/JPEGs/schloss1.html> Netscape 4.04/Win98 72s IE 4/Win98 64s Without the maxarray parameter, IE is much slower in this case.
