A serious problem is that people generally don not read instructions
at all, not even the most compact ones. People have expectations, and
if they are confronted with something that proves them wrong the will
be annoyed or uncomfortable. So they will leave the situation or
reject the object if they can.
A good interface will 'steer' or 'guide' visitors expectations, so
they are comfortable with what they encounter next. This guidance is a
step-by-step process, no single element can do it on its own.

I also have a plan to make a short animated introduction to VR images,
I've found a tutorial for using panorama cubefaces in a 3D 'world' in
Adobe AfterEffects that could be useful for this. I'll post some links
for those who are interested.
